The Brekky Club at Kincumber Neighbourhood Centre is the place to be!
Run by volunteers and youth workers, it's a warm and welcoming environment giving school-goers a kick start to their day, while fostering community togetherness and interaction.
Watch this little video kindly created by Bank of Goodwill and The Bendigo Bank, to find out more about this morning hub, and get in touch if you or your business would like to get involved.
Kincumber Neighbourhood Centre would like to give a huge shout out to the local business owners who attended our inaugural quarterly Business Network Meeting. We would like to say a big thank you to Sue and Anthony from Anthony’s Seafood have handed us the baton and provided mentoring and support to get it all started.
We held the first event at The Neon Garage, a funky new venue in South Kincumber and Brad, Bianca and Kaz did a great job of providing a fantastic space to hold our first event. Nothing was too much trouble and they provided lots of support. Definitely a venue to check out if you are looking to hire something different for a party or function.
A new business The Big Meringue, with fantastic chef PaulieMac provided the very Hestonish food that was a very delicious treat.
We would like to say a big thank you to Kincumber Rotary for their kind donation of $200 towards the night, which helped with the cost of the evening, they are a great community organisation.
Also Kincumber Hotel who gave us a discount on the wines for the night. Also Six String Brewery who provided the beer and lemonade, also at reduced cost.
We would also Mitre 10 who are also a great community minded business, and supported the evening even though unable to be there this time.
If you know any small businesses who may want to be included on our mailing list please pass our contact details along
We feel that it is important for us all to work together and support our local community and local businesses, so that our local area can be a well-resourced, safe and happy place to be for all of our members.
We would like to say a huge thank you to Bendigo Bank Kincumber for their generous donation of $500 to our Youth Brekky Club.
We cannot run this fanastic program without the support of our local community, and we are very lucky to have the support of great local businesses and organisations. It currently costs approx $100 per week to run this program and we feed an average of 650 students of Kincumber High School each month of school terms.
Some of the fantastic organisations that support it are:
Lendlease/Brentwood Village
Roundabout Op Shop
Broadwater Court Management
Broadwater Court Residents Group
MacMasters Ladies Social Fundraising Group
Bellbirds Committee
Pandora Women’s Committee
We would also like to give a huge callout to our amazing volunteers who keep this program running three mornings per week.
Boomerang Bags works to reduce the use of plastic bags by engaging local communities in the making of Boomerang Bags – community made using recycled materials, Boomerang Bags provide a free, fun, sustainable alternative to plastic bags.
KNC are now facilitating the Kincumber and District local business networking events which will happen every quarter. Our first event to kick off the year was held at Neon Garage and was a fantastic event.
